What’s Included in a Fitted Bedroom

Wardrobes: sliding, hinged, alcove or walk-in, built to the room’s exact dimensions
Chest of drawers or fitted drawer units: matched to the wardrobe finish
Bedside units: either freestanding to match, or built into the wardrobe run itself
Headboards: upholstered or panel headboards designed to complement the rest of the furniture
Dressing table: where the room has space, built into the same design (see our dedicated dressing table page for more)

You don’t need all of these many people start with wardrobes and drawers, and add pieces later. Because everything is designed as part of one plan from the start, later additions match rather than being guessed at afterward.

Designing for the Whole Room, Not Just Storage

The advantage of a fitted bedroom over buying separate pieces is that the whole room is planned together where the bed sits relative to the wardrobe run, how much floor space is left, where power points and windows fall, and how the finishes work as a set rather than being matched approximately after the fact.
This matters most in smaller rooms, where every piece of furniture affects how much usable floor space is left, and in irregular rooms where a standard bedroom furniture set from a shop won’t fit the walls properly.
